I bought two new heads of cattle yesterday! Their names are Lily & Meatballs. Angus and Daisy have been on my ranch since June and are quite the attraction. Lily and Meatballs loped around and did was they do best, grazed A LOT! Here's the herd. My girl Daisy! Angus! Lily! Meatballs! I decided to play around a bit, and was leaning over Lily's back. She didn't seem to mind, and was basically ignoring me. I decided to try my luck and jumped up on her. That didn't end well...

Finished the pasture where I keep my cows. Very simple, but very spacious. They seem to be enjoying themselves! I saw a deer right up by the barn door. They're getting bold!

Well, I've decided to get a specialty, and that would be my cattle and paint horses. I'm not selling any of the other breeds. I still play with all of them and love them all too much to part with any. But, I only had a couple of Paint stallions and had been looking around the classifies for awhile. When I got home from work (I'm lead singer in a rock band), I noticed our truck and trailer was out of place and parked by the round pen. I drove in and was surprised to see two beautiful Paints. I admired them from awhile, thinking they must be new boarders and man was I jealous. I got out of the car, and Alec called me over. Turns out the stallions were a present! He had gone behind my back and bought them and I was sure happy he did. They are SA Summer Solstice & SCS Rebel's Apache. I ran over to Apache, and gave him some loving. He's so gorgeous and has such an awesome personality. He's the grandfather of SCS Mr Darcy, who I'm a big fan of. Solstice is a real gentlemen. So calm and polite and well trained to boot. Two of my students were over, helping Alec with chores in return for free lessons. I called them over and they got on Apache and Alec & I rode Solstice. It was a great ride and I love my new stallions!

Liam got his first horse! He's been riding with us for about 6 months now, and his parents were looking around for the perfect horse for him. They found this paint mare at Crimson Reed Stables, and she was a perfect match for him. He's really going to excel with her. He even went to his first show, Samara unloaded Nadela and tacked her up with the new saddle and bridle Liam's father picked out at the tack shop. He knew Liam's taste. She was making friends with Rusty the filly. Blair told Liam she had a surprise for him. He walked into the barn and saw the gorgeous horse. He screamed in delight when they told him it was his horse! Here's some pics from the show. Tacking up Gallop on a circle Stop Jog After the show, Liam tied his horse to a hitching post and went to the lounge to hang out with friends. When he came back out she was missing! Luckily he found her not too far in a paddock eating some tasty leaves. Liam needs to work on his knots.
