Well, Alec got a new horse for competitions and trail rides. I'm surprised he didn't buy another paint, but he's loving his new Norman Cob, Desire. He bought her from Lance, and is really enjoying her. She's so tame and people friendly. She's a real trickster and very funny. She's gentle and calm, so Liam loves her too. Lunging her before a ride. She's pretty lazy so lunging her isn't going to have to be a daily chore. Meeting Samara and her Unicorn Sandra Samara showing off, in her panties too! What's gotten into that girl?! First ride, Alec mounted her, and she just stood there half asleep. Waiting by the gate for Alec to hurry up to go to a trail ride. *Yawn* Is Desire up to it? Trotting! She's so comfortable! Leaving for their ride.

Well, today Alec & Liam drove to MSE to pick up two new horses for the therapy center! Amanda very generously donated two lovely horses. Flirt is a Tennessee Walker & Apollo is a saddlebred. Our herd is primarily very calm and reserved, so we placed the two new horses in with the others. There was no fighting at all! They all got aquainted, then chowed down. We'll saddle them up and ride them tomorrow to see which Therapy programs they're best suited. I've never ridden a gaited horse before, so I'm excited! (Spartan, North, Flirt, Dancer, Midnight & Apollo) We're still accepting donations of horses who're available for light work. I also have some room available for horses not able to be ridden due to injury, age etc... They must be well tempered and enjoy getting groomed/pampered by the students. Liam's been spending lots of time at the barn since his parents bought him a Paint mare named Saltscape. He's officially a boarder now, but I let him leave Saltscape at the Therapy/Lesson barn so I can give him lessons right on location which saves us having to travel in between lots with the mare. He's even been sleeping over in one of the bunks. I can't really complain though, he's a good kid and a lot of help. Today he was out in the paddock with Devil's Dance. She is hard for him to halter/bridle because she likes to keep her head high. But, Liam being the genius he is, taught her to lower her had when he snaps his fingers. Alec & I went out first thing and decided to take Flirt & Apollo for a test ride. We groomed them and tacked them up. We were walking around, getting a feel for the new horses when Alec said "Isn't that the bucker Amanda wanted trained?" I froze up, had I misunderstood yesterday? Was this horse really a bucker?! Alec: "HAHA! You fell for it Blair. It's not true. You should of seen the look on your face!" Blair: *Sigh* maybe YOU want to go ride somewhere else! Alec: PMS much?! Let's go Apollo, we don't need them! Blair: "Urgh... Whatever!" Alec: "Let's go do some Manly stuff boy! Just you and me!" *Apollo stops suddently and Alec almost flies over his head* Alec " Umm... ok, this is fine too."

Well, we've got some big changes in Liam. It's with hesitance I let him grow up. He's now 16 years old and living with me full time. He's renting one of our apartments on site. He's advancing well in his riding, and we're so proud of him. He's kind of like a foster child of mine. Today he brought a friend home from school. Her name is Amy, and I actually taught her when she was a kid. He invited her over to go for a ride, since he does own two horses. They brought Dusty & Saltscape in, then tacked them up. Amy knew the basics from taking a few lessons before. Of course I jumped in and gave her a few pointers on body position. She's having problems with her heels and slouching. I suppose it's inevitable for any beginner. Liam has only had one english lesson as a kid at VLS. He decided it was smart to show off and take a rather menacing jump with Saltscapes, who's never gone over anything but poles in trail class. Of course, she refused and he almost went over her head. Hold on, or let your pride splatter! Well, since his ego was bruised, they decided to go on a trail ride instead. When they got home Amy had an unfortunate dismounting incident. They went and turned the horses back out. Amy thanked him for a great time, and look what happened. Yes, Liam's first kiss! He'll be so mad I took this picture XD I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Amy. Tomorrow after school, Liam's coming for a drive with me and the horse trailer. Hmmm... I wonder what we'll be doing

Blair brought Liam's horse Rubix to an advanced jumping show. Liam isn't experienced enough in jumping to compete yet, but he's working with verticals and slowly getting better. This was Rubix's first show, and he did very well. Practice Horsemanship Warm Up Approach Jump Landing Rollback Optional Bonding In other news, Blair got her first pets! Meet Scout the german shepherd and Sky the fox. Both are little bundles of joy and are best friends. Everyone is having a lot of fun with them!

Umm... I have it marked down somewhere, but I'm not interested in registering. Tried the K9 aspect of Sims & I get bored with it.
