So, thought I'd put some information up on types of races I'll be running etc. This list'll be added to as I get more and more questions to answer
What type of Races?
Multiple types depending on breed so here's the list
Thoroughbred
- Flat
- Steeplechase
Arabian
Endurance Races
- Will be focused on more a type you would find crossing a desert so no need to worry about jumping obstacles
Flag to Flag
- Shorter sprint type race where the aim is to reach a flag round and back to the start point
Quarter Horse/Paints/Appys
Quarter Mile sprint
- Name explains it all A flat out Quarter Mile Sprint
Fun Races
No breed attached, think of these as similar to a race among friends out on a hack etc, there will be points awarded still but this is more based on the creativity and fun aspect.
Grand Champion Races
Should there be enough competitors during the season then I will be doing a Grand Champion Race for all those who are in the top listing of the race leader board will be invited to race to gain a place in horse racing history.
Minimum race age
While some thoroughbreds are raced as young as one this won't be the case here, instead the minimum race age is two year old.
Handicapping
Be warned that in a handicap race each horse will be assigned a handicap that will have an effect on placings. While this may not be apparent in the first few races this will eventually come into play for repeat winners allowing newer members of the field chance to come in a bit.
Jockey Colours
It is preferred that Jockeys racing for the same stable wear the same colours. Currently working on how to change it so jockey silks have more colours to them
