Note: Please read thoroughly before entering competitions
- Rider must show in at least 3 of our 5 shows (in an individual class) for points (Note: if only 4 shows, rider must show at least 2, if only 3 shows you may enter one) to count towards trophies.
- Points will commence to count from the time your membership is valid.
- All riders must be properly attired according to SFS rules, except where specified
- Rider to be neatly dressed in suitable Western show attire: Western Hat or Helmets, Shirt (Long Sleeves rolled down and buttoned), Boots, Chaps(if you don't own chaps, wear a shiny belt buckle to make up for it!), Jeans (no holes), Show pants, Belt, Tie, Pin or Scarf. Turtlenecks are allowed with a Pin, Brooch or Scarf.
- Horses to be shown in serviceable Western tack (silver not to count), including Western stock saddle with standard rigging and girthing.
- Sportsmanship conduct is expected at all times. NO FOUL LANGUAGE, NO EXCESSIVE ABUSE ON HORSE/PONY. Improper conduct will result in forfeiting of membership privileges and/or points.
- Judge’s decisions are FINAL. Judge has the authority to request the removal or alteration of any piece of equipment.
- Disputes should be taken to the Show Manager. The Show Manager is the only individual that is allowed to approach the Judge with a dispute. Anyone approaching Judge regarding disputes will lose their points for that show.
- YOUTH are NOT allowed to handle, show or ride stallions in any class or on park grounds
- Classes will be cancelled if not at least two (2) entries EXCEPT FOR: Leadline, Optional Leadline-Walk/Jog, Youth.
- ALL YOUTH, ALL LEADLINE, MUST WEAR APPROVED RIDING HELMETS IN ALL EVENTS RUN UNDER SFS SANCTION AND ANYWHERE ON SHOW GROUNDS. (Youth: 18yrs (as of Jan. 1 of the show yr.) and under).
- RIDING HELMETS APPROVED is optional to Adults without penalty.
- Hats MUST be worn in all classes.
- Western Performance classes prohibit the use of Crops, Quirks, ends of Reins, Romals, Hands or Excessive spurring to perform.
- NOVICE HORSE – Jr. Western Pleasure Horse (5yrs and under are eligible)
- NOVICE RIDER – Rider who have never won a 1st place trophy in any Horse Show
Anyone who does not follow these rules will be DISQUALIFIED.
