Ranch sorting is a western-style equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. Ranch Sorting is an event that pits a team of two riders on horseback against the clock. Teamwork is the key with both riders working in harmony to cut out the correct cattle and drive them to the pen while keeping the wrong numbered cattle back. There are several variations of ranch sorting with one, two or three riders on the team, but all require sorting the cattle from one pen to the other in the correct order. (by Ranch Sorting on Wikipedia) Begins- December 19 / Ends- January 19

This is a bit of a bummer... Individuality somewhat rules in DWH and everyone has their own colors instead of having the same "DWH colors". :/
There would be intended paring of Howie and Windy sharing almost same red pad, but other tack is quite distinctively different shades... not to mention riders having blue vs. white shirt... :P Then again Howie isn't really group activity type, so some other choice might be better and in this case all color similarities are gone...
So yeah, a bit of a bummer... lol. ;D

Ok, here are some precisions :
I perfectly understand that each horse needs an adapted bridle, saddle and breast plate (if used), and it's the same for the rider's jeans, hat and boots. BUT, the riders' shirts have to be the same and the horses' pads have to be the same too. If the horses wear leg protections, the shame can be different but the colors MUST be the same.
It's a team event, so we have to be able to identify the teams on the field.
